We cut this dinner jacket as a single piece with a smooth satin shawl collar and a single-button closure. The blue-green cloth incorporates metallic threading and sequins over a viscose blend with medium give. Inside, a stretch lining keeps the shoulders free to move.

Shawl lapel cut

The continuous curve of our satin shawl lapel sets a clean evening line. A single covered front button fastens the jacket right at the waist.

Sequin cloth blend

We wove the outer shell from 56.7 percent viscose, 40.3 percent polyester, and 3 percent spandex. It stays light across the back while the sequins catch overhead room light.

Interior stretch lining

A full lining of 95 percent polyester and 5 percent rayon gives the jacket enough ease across the chest. Interior pockets keep a cardholder flat against the chest.

Dry clean care

Send this piece to a professional dry cleaner to protect the surface sequins and metallic thread. Use a low-heat iron on the reverse side only if you must press out storage folds.

What black tie asks of a jacket

The invitation names the room before you walk into it. Black tie expects a dinner jacket with a shawl collar, matched trousers, a white shirt, and a bow tie. We cut our formal garments in polyester blend cloth so the front keeps its line through dinner and late seating.
